A note from Rachael

True Light Yoga Is Evolving

After two beautiful years of building an incredible community in Ocean City, our last class at the 810 Asbury studio will be Monday, September 14, 2026.

While this is the end of our time in this particular space, True Light Yoga is not over.

The 810 Asbury studio was one chapter of TLY’s story but this community and website exsisted long before — therefore it is not the beginning, and certainly not the end..

A New Chapter...

As many of you know, the past several months have brought some unexpected changes to the studio. After navigating challenges with our current space and landlords and exploring several possibilities for a new location, it became increasingly clear that forcing another physical space into existence wasn’t the right path.

I always said i'd have this space as long as it felt right, and in alignment, and that might be a year, 5, or 25. While I truly did think we would get more than 2 short years, the building we are in has significant HVAC issues that management cannot afford to fix and it is no longer allowing for a yoga studio to rent there.  I have also taken this bump in the road as a bit of a divine redirection to finish some pursuits of mine that felt unfinished before opening the space and feel called to revisit.

In yoga, we practice listening. We practice merging with the divine plane for our life. We practice noticing what is working, what is not, and when it is time to release our attachment to what we thought something had to look like. We practice presence, not forevers.

Sometimes the practice is not about holding on tighter. But sometimes it is about surrendering, trusting, and making space for what comes next.

So, rather than viewing this as an ending, we’re choosing to see it as a redirection — an opportunity for TLY to grow and evolve in ways that aren't dependent on four walls for now.

The physical studio may be changing, but the heart of this community remains.....

The Practice Continues

Yoga has always taught us that nothing is permanent. Every breath arrives, changes, and leaves. Every practice begins and ends. Savasana reminds us that there is wisdom in letting go — not because something wasn't beautiful, but because we trust that life is always moving us toward the next moment.

That is the practice we’re leaning into now.

810 Asbury was a beautiful chapter. We are deeply grateful for everything that happened within those walls — the friendships, the laughter, the tears, the growth, the first yoga classes, the teacher trainings, the celebrations, and all of the moments that made TLY what it is today.

And now, we make space for what comes next.

True Light Yoga is a community, a practice, and an invitation to keep coming back to yourself. That doesn't require a particular building.

This isn't goodbye. It's simply a new way forward. We are soooo grateful for an INCREDIBLE two years of fun, growth, beauty, + community,

Thank you for practicing with us, believing in this community, and being part of the journey.

Stay connected. Keep practicing. Stay open to what's next.

Follow your bliss.
Find your true light.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

The best studio in south Jersey!!!
This place felt like home the moment I walked in.

My first class with Rachael helped me open up with my emotions and get vulnerable and was so inspiring.

I absolutely love the way she teaches yoga. Her true light and energy radiates from her onto everyone in the class. I always leave the classes feeling more grounded and lighter than when I came in.

This recent chakra series has been just what I needed to get back in touch with my God and the universe. This series stared right at a time where I felt totally blocked off from source, but through the chakra series I was able to get back in touch which helps me meditate and feel a closer connection to my dad. I will be forever grateful to Rachael and her yoga teachings! I just finished one of her classes on Patreon a few hours ago and it grounded me and chilled me out.

I thought yoga wasn’t for me because I have the flexibility of a tree buried in permafrost for millions of years. Rachael’s classes have taught me to thaw those frozen, preconceived notions and had me swaying like a sapling in a gentle breeze! I also stood on my head. 13/10 would recommend.

I’ve been taking Rachael’s yoga classes for the past ten years. Each class is unique and fun. Rachael is knowledgeable when it comes to anatomy and she makes great adjustments. I like how the classes challenge me, but aren’t too advanced at the same time. I’d say the classes are great for any level- whether you’ve been practicing for years or you’re just getting started! She plays excellent music and most of the time she will incorporates oils and meditations into the practice.

Rachael naturally embodies and transmits incredible energy.  She quickly identifies where I am in my practice and has an inherently peaceful way of inspiring growth while fostering inner peace.  My favorite part about taking classes with Rachael is the community she creates.  It is special to feel like you are not walking but floating out of class with a few others who share them same sentinment.

When you take a class with Rachael, you know, that she knows what she is talking about- whether it be the poses, the spirituality or how to take the class with you when it (unfortunately) 'ends'.  Rachael is a special type of special.  Her vigor in sharing her experience and expertise while radiating true yogi virtues is something I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience and learn from.

Ever since Covid threw off my routine, I’ve had a hard time getting back into a groove of making time for myself, including weekly yoga. The past several weeks have been such a blessing, being able to attend Rachel’s classes. They are so much more than just any other yoga class. They are fun, relaxing, and challenging all at the same time, and the messages and meanings are so on point!

To take a class with Rachael is an absolute experience where you leave feeling like you’ve grown into a different person. She reminds you of what yoga is really about not just on the mat, but how you can take those concepts off the mat and into your life. Rachael creates a safe space for not only your yoga practice, but for your mind. Physically you get an amazing workout and she ensures that the counter poses really help stretch out every nook and cranny. She pushes you just a little past your comfort zone, and makes you feel absolutely supported when you’re doing it. I have been taking her online classes on her patreon page and I still feel like I’m right there with her. I’m so excited for her to share her gift with others and help foster more yoga teachers with this same intense love for yoga that she has. We need more people like her in the world!

About
Rachael

Owner

If you've ever said "Yoga isn't for me, I've tried it, I don't like it." Rachael is probably the person to change your mind. She is of the mindset that yoga should be fun and yoga can be so interesting and varying.

Rachael was born and raised in South Jersey and has been teaching yoga in the area for over a decade. Having taught her first yoga class in Ocean City in 2012,  she has had time to develop a perfect blend of accommodating yet challenging within her teaching style. Her classes are constantly different, with a light energy that removes the intimidation factor around the practice. She developed 'Buddha Boot Camp' instead of your normal hiit class because she believes exercise should be empowering and fun rather than punishment for your body and offers yoga and minfulness in a fun way for people who normally find yoga "boring".

With a background of 15 years of work in emergency service and 8 years in recovery, she aims to keep the mental health crisis at heart of the business and give people a place to learn about their nervous system and leave with tools to handle the stress we all face in life.

"I hope to help students release the idea of identifying as only their physical body and connect with the true self in the present moment. I want you to leave classes feeling challenged, but relaxed and empowered.

It has always been a passion of mine to connect students with their intuitive nature and find the power within their OWN voices... To listen to the inner light, even when it means sifting through the darkness, and with that in mind, True Light Yoga was born."
